"Tom Buford's story of his victory through Jesus Christ over sex and pornography addiction is compelling reading...about the powerful struggle with sin we all encounter, and how it can ravage some of us and impact our relationships...a testimony to the strength and power of love, true repentance, forgiveness and community." Tough questions
for accountability partners
The following questions are some that an accountability partner might ask a porn addict. It is crucial that the addict be willing to answer such questions candidly.
- Have you viewed any pornographic image since we last spoke, intentionally or not? If so, what steps will you take to avoid doing so in the future?
- Have you acted out since we last spoke? If so, how?
- How has your spiritual life been? Have you prayed, sincerely?
- Has anger been a problem for you today? If so, who was the object of your anger?
- If your wife (or husband) knew what you've done today, would she (or he) be pleased? If not, why not?
- Have you been honest with me?
In the search for an accountability partner, look for one that is not afraid to ask the tough questions, then stand there, flat-footed, until you give him a candid answer.
