Tough Questions

Tough Answers

The following are questions like the ones that we receive regularly from men around the world. They are questions that you might have asked at one time or another.

Tom Buford, founder of Man On The Road, has written answers to these questions in his own hard-hitting style from his own heart and his own experiences. He has been to the absolute bottom of the pit that pornography addiction dug for him. His life and his wife's were far more drastically impacted by it than the average user's is. He knows how life is for the porn addict. But he also knows the joy that a life free from bondage can provide, having been free from pornography addiction for more than fifteen years now.

Read the questions. The answers will pop up when you click "answer" after each question. (If your browser does not load the answers, check to see that Javascript is enabled on your browser. No Javascript? Click here.)

The questions...

  • Maybe I am addicted to pornography. It's my addiction, though. Why should my wife let it affect her the way she does? Answer

  • If I hadn't been introduced to pornography as a youngster, I wouldn't be using it now. It's not my fault. Everyone else should just learn to deal with it. Answer

  • I've tried support groups, and 12 step programs. I've read books and listened to tapes, but none of those has helped. Why? What am I doing wrong? Answer

  • It seems that I just can't stop masturbating. Every time I see pornography, I want to do it again. Why? Answer

  • I love my wife, but I've noticed that the more I use pornography, the less that I'm attracted to her physically. She's still pretty, but for some reason she just doesn't measure up any more. How did that happen? Answer

  • It just occurred to me that when I use pornography, I feel as if I am with a prostitute. That can't be right, can it? Answer

  • I don't understand all the fuss over pornography. The people in the images got paid. I got a little pleasure from it. That's a win-win situation if you ask me! Answer

  • A couple of nights ago, I came home to find my wife crying because she had found out about my pornography. What am I supposed to do? What does she expect from me? Answer

  • God created those people and their beautiful bodies. What's so wrong with admiring their beauty? Answer

  • I hear my preacher fussing about pornography a lot. But I know that he likes it, too. Why should I be expected to listen to such a hypocrite? Answer
