Prayer...
The beginning of change
No matter where you are in your struggle with pornography addiction or sexual addiction, prayer is the beginning of change...
The fact that most of my sinful lifestyle was lived around celebrities is immaterial when the gravity of my deeds is weighed. The same deeds could have been done if I had worked in a dairy, or for an airline, if I had been a policeman, a garbage collector, a teacher, a doctor, or a minister.
What is important is not who I worked and traveled with, but rather that I was delivered from the hold sin had on me. God is no respecter of persons. What He did for me, He will do for you. All you have to do is to ask Him with a sincere heart and repent of your sins. When you repent, you turn your back on the old things, and look toward the new. Do not try to depend on your own strength and wisdom. You do not have what it takes, on your own. With the strength of God and by the blood of Jesus, you can do it, though!
In Jesus, if you have accepted Him as your Savior, you are more than a conqueror. You are a joint heir with Jesus Christ, and as such, have at your disposal God's complete arsenal of weapons against Satan, regardless of what manifestation of his ugly self you are experiencing or which of his demons is trying to attach itself to you.
You can be more than a conqueror only after you have accepted Jesus as your Savior. If you have not done that, but would like to, please pray this prayer with me.
"Jesus, I recognize that my life is a mess, and that I cannot get it back on the right track without You in my life. I have committed some horrible sins in my past, but I believe You will forgive me of those sins. I confess those sins to you and repent of them. I turn my back on them, and ask You to come into my life as my Savior and as my guide and my helper. I cannot do this on my own, but I know that with You by my side, and in my heart, I can do anything You ask me to do. Thank you for forgiveness, for the gift of salvation, and for giving Yourself to die just so I could have that gift. I honor You and give You my life to use as You will. In Jesus' name, Amen."

Psychologists and counselors in the secular arena (and some in the Christian arena) subscribe to the idea that sex addicts and pornography addicts cannot be cured. I agree with them, but only if the client makes no effort to involve Jesus, the Healer in the process. Jesus Christ will deliver you from the control of whatever sin has you bound. It is by the blood of Jesus and at the name of Jesus that even evil spirits must bow. Because I have experienced first-hand the deliverance that God offers, I can say that a person can indeed be free from the control of those addictions. Absolute freedom from their control is impossible without divine intervention, however.
Your deliverance may not occur in the same way mine did. Deliverance from bondage is in many ways the same as physical healing. Sometimes it is instantaneous, in the same way some physical infirmities are healed. Sometimes it is a process that may take a while. However it takes place, do not give up!
Continue to have faith, knowing that the battle you are experiencing is one that can be won, and will be won as long as you keep Jesus Christ the center of your desires. Do not make the mistake of thinking that once you are delivered of a particular form of bondage that you will never again be bothered by it. It often happens quite to the contrary. The areas in which you have a history of being most easily swayed are the areas in which Satan is most likely to try to attack you again.
Whenever those temptations come to your mind, remember that you have the authority to rebuke them, or to resist them, and that when you do so in the name of Jesus, they must obey. You have the authority to command those spirits to leave you and to cease their operation in your life. They have no choice, as long as you have made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life and as long as you sincerely believe in your heart that Jesus Christ paid for your deliverance nearly two thousand years ago on the cross.
Scripture tells us that these spirits will return, if they are allowed to do so. When they do, rebuke them again. Whenever a temptation comes to you, trying to persuade you to do something that goes against the standards God has established for you, speak to the temptation. It does not take a lot of words. It is not a complicated process. First say. . .
"Father, I plead the blood of Jesus over my mind and over this temple."
Then say. . .
"Satan, in the name of Jesus and by the blood of Jesus, I rebuke you and I command you to go and to take this temptation to (name whatever sin is tempting you) with you. My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and you have no place here."

Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary to do a lot of yelling and screaming at Satan. He is not deaf. He recognizes the name of Jesus even at a whisper. You do not have to preach him a sermon. He has heard many of them. Most words do not phase him, but the name of Jesus sends him scurrying for cover. He is defeated by the blood of Jesus and the word of our testimony.
You can put Satan to a disadvantage by avoiding the areas that have been known to present temptations to you. As much as is possible, stay away from those areas of town that once drew you in, such as the areas where the adult book stores are if you struggle with pornography addiction; places where gambling occurs; where alcohol is easily accessible; or any other place that might feed your particular temptation. Be cautious about the content of the shows you watch on television. Do not stay around other people whose actions show that they have tendencies toward similar forms of behavior.
Instead, try to surround yourself with people who are successfully living a Christian life. Spend time reading scripturally sound religious material. Watch Christian television instead of the usual sitcom. Listen to Christian music in place of music with unholy lyrics. Avoid shows or music with dialog or lyrics depicting behavior from which you have turned away. For example, if you are battling lust, it is not a good idea to watch programming that continually depict women in scant clothing.
Some of the strongest negative influences are the subtlest. Those are often the most dangerous because their effects on us can be so gradual that we do not notice them until one day we find ourselves taking part in some activity that we would have at one time sworn we would never do.
In other words, give no place to Satan. If he is given an inch, he will try to steal a mile! Never, never trust him. He is the father of lies. He is on a mission to kill, steal, and destroy whomever and whatever he can.
