Dear Hearts: Do's and Don'ts

I know your struggle. It’s long and it seems hopeless. But I’m here to tell you that it is not hopeless. I’m living with my husband who was miraculously delivered from pornography addiction. (read more...)

Praying for your husband...

One of the most common complaints that we receive at Man On The Road is from wives who believe that their feelings do not matter to their porn-addicted husbands. Almost every day we hear from a wife whose husband continues to use pornography and then lie about it. These women frequently tell us that their husbands attempt to play the blame shifting game. “If you had done this or that, I wouldn’t feel the need to use pornography.” Or, “If you would get your weight under control, I’d stop.”

The most common form of blame shifting that we hear is when the husband says, “You’re just insecure. All men do it.” In just seven words, he manages to shift the blame twice. First he shifts the blame for his wife’s own pain onto her. “You’re just insecure.” Then he blames society for making it okay. “All men do it.” Two sentences. Two lies. The man never stops to consider that he is doing little more than drilling holes in his bride’s heart. (read more...)

Dear Hearts...

Praying for your husband...

When we pray for our pornography addicted husbands or boyfriends, we are interceding for them. It is prayer that moves the hand of God.

Great deliverances come when people pray, sometimes so surprisingly that we may find it difficult to believe, ourselves! It is God's desire to restore every part of a man or woman - their health, their personality, and their relationship with God.

Right now it may seem that all hope for a future is gone and that everything is coming against you. But the truth is He's on your side, and your request will not be denied.

A prayer...

Father,

I need you in my life. I need You to show me what I should do and what I shouldn't do. Please guide me. I put my trust in you, no matter the outcome. I pray for my_______(husband or his name). Father, please bring him to You. Touch his life and turn it to good. Open his eyes to his condition.

Father, help me forgive him. Help me to be that kind of person he needs me to be right now. Walk with me thru this, and give me your peace.

Amen.

God grant you His peace and wisdom.
